Genesis Casino Overview

Genesis Casino joined the online gaming universe in 2018 and, owing to hard work invested prior to its launch, quickly established itself as a popular destination for casino fans from all over the world. While it was active, the Casino featured a large library counting 1,000+ games provided by some of the best software developers, good promotional offering and efficient direct support available 24/7.

First Impressions: An Out-Of-This-World Gaming Experience

Seeing the landing page made me imagine what it would be like to play on a space ship or visit a casino on another planet. Would I be staring at an odd-looking individual with way too many limbs across a blackjack table or watch an insect-like creature spin a roulette wheel using its telepathic powers?

Properly excited by this vision, I was happy to see there was nothing alien when it came to layout, with handy menus enabling one-click access to all important sections of the website. With both the MGA and the UKGC regulating the Casino’s operations during the period covered by this review, the journey looked as safe as could be.

What made Genesis UK Casino a great online casino for UK players?

What do you look for in a good online casino? It’s going to be different for everyone in some ways. But you can also bet that there are a lot of commonalities.

Quality is the main thing here for most players. Good quality sites that we can trust with good quality games are a great start for many players.

Did Genesis Casino have these attributes?

We thought it had all of that and more, so let’s take a look at why Genesis Casino was a great online casino for UK players while it was active.

1 – Genesis Casino Was Legal and Legitimate

Warning time: Never play at an unlicensed casino site, or even at one you’re not 100% sure you can trust. In the UK that means that players should not even consider signing on – let alone give their payment details – to a site that is not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

Genesis Casino rejoiced in licence number: 000-045235-R-324169-007!

The company was founded in Malta and was also licensed by that island’s gaming authorities. That wasn’t necessary for UK players any more, but it was good to see at the time.

2 – Genesis Games Had All the Games

So you could trust them. But did you want to spend any time there? In order to entertain you, you want variety, and Genesis Casino delivered a galaxy of that across all possible styles and genres of online casino games!

Popular slot titles were your thing? Great, Genesis had Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest and plenty more.

If players wanted to play for huge jackpots, they could do no better than trying their hand at Mega Moolah.

New games kept coming, and there was a lot more besides, including casino games, live casino games, Keno, instant wins, and horse racing simulators.

3 – Genesis Casino’s Welcome Bonus Was Great

If a site wanted you to sign up and play, it had better be ready to offer you something in return.

That usually meant a banging welcome offer, and Genesis had a Big Bang of one when this review was written. These offers changed over time, but the old Genesis welcome package gave players a 100% bonus on their first deposit and – wait for it – 300 free spins!

That was a great offer on any planet!

4 – Genesis Casino Payment Options

To collect that money, players needed to get money in their account. Genesis Casino had every option for cashing up (and cashing out) an account covered: bank transfers, cards, Neteller, Skrill, Trustly, Entercash, Paysafecard, Boku, ecoPayz, and quite a few more.

If players had money to spend, they had no problem getting it to Genesis Casino.

5 – Genesis Casino Was a Responsible Company

Occasionally at this site, we can lay some pretty heavy warnings on our readers. We never apologise for this. For the vast majority of players, gambling will be nothing more than fun, and it might even make you some money. However, there are risks. Genesis Casino shows that they take their responsibility as the supplier of gambling services seriously.

There was a good list of help options: Age verification, Gamble Aware, GamStop, Responsible Gaming Foundation, Genesis SafePlay, and a fantastic page of advice on responsible gaming showed that this was a company that didn’t just care about customers when they were putting money into their account.

Genesis Welcome Bonus: Start the Journey With Extra £100

The welcome offer consisted of a 100% 1st deposit match up to £100 and 300 free spins on Starburst. To claim it, players needed to head to the cashier, select the Bonus from the dropdown box and deposit a minimum of £10 using any method except for Skrill and Neteller.

Spins were credited in batches of 30 per day and had a max win potential of (withdrawable) £100. A wagering requirement of 40x the bonus was not unusual for the period, and players could clear it by betting on video slots (100% contribution), classic slots (75%), table games (10%) and blackjack (5%).

Other Promotions: Bonuses, Free Spins, Holidays and Gadgets

Deposit and wager at least £10 from Thursday to Sunday and a batch of spins would land into your inbox on the following Monday. Shooting Star Bonus consisted of 3 bonuses worth up to £200; players were able to select one following a deposit of £10 or more. Making at least 2 deposits worth £50+ from Monday to Thursday earned players the right to participate in the Weekly Bonus Mission and get rewarded with a 25% bonus up to £100.

There were other, time-limited freebies whenever players chose to explore this gaming universe. At the time of review, Spacewalk tempted players with a chance to win an iPhone XS or £100 in cash, while an invite to “Sail in space from Spain” could result in an 8-night deluxe cruise around the Iberian Peninsula.

Deposits & Withdrawals: Good Choice of Options With Decent Limits

Having opened an account, players were able to fund it with £10-£5,000 using Visa and MasterCard (debit), Maestro, Skrill, Neteller, ecoPayz, Trustly, Entropay, Paysafecard or Boku.

Being an incurable optimist, I wanted to know that I’d be able to collect a potentially massive win before I got too old to enjoy spending it, and thankfully I could. All withdrawals were paid in full without limits, including progressive jackpots.

Processing of cash-out requests took between 1 and 5 days.

Over 1,000 RNG and Live Games

This virtual galaxy was home to more than 1,000 games sourced from Microgaming, NetEnt, NYX, Yggdrasil, Quickspin, Play ‘n GO, Big Time Gaming, Lightning Box, Bally Wulff, Oryx Gaming, Red Tiger, Gamomat, Kalamba Games, and last but certainly not least, Evolution Gaming. It was, fortunately, an instant-play casino so no downloads were needed in order to play. What’s more, there was a Try button attached to most non-live games so that one could practice first.

Genesis Casino Games

Genesis Casino was an exciting and different site that launched in 2018. The clever theming and nice look formed a great framework for a quality set of games.

In July 2019 the site was reported to have nearly 900 games available to players, with 36 developers providing titles for them.

Let’s have a look at Genesis’ slot offering.

Genesis Slots

Genesis had hundreds of slots. They came from some of the biggest names in the business, including Play’n GO, Quickspin, Yggdrasil, Evolution Gaming, NetEnt, and Microgaming, but also much smaller companies like ELK Studios, Rabcat, and Froxium.

The majority of the games at Genesis were slots.

There were big casino and live casino offerings, but of those more-than 1,000 games at least 750 were slots.

Big Genesis slots titles included the likes of Starburst, the UK’s most popular slot, Twin Spin, and massive prize progressive slots like Mega Moolah and Mega Fortune.

If there was a style of slot that you liked, odds on Genesis Casino had it.

Genesis Casino Slot Listings

Games were listed on the front page of the site, with “video slots” listed as a different category. There players could find some very big titles.

On the front page when we visited were the following Genesis slots: Starburst, Vikings Go Berserk, Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Fire Joker, and Reel King Mega.

In the rest of the site, slots and casino games were listed together. We didn’t know for sure, but usually games are listed with the most popular at the top.

Genesis Casino New Slots

Clicking on “new games” brought up a big screen of tiles.

At the top on our visit was Reel King Mega, then Wild Rails (a steampunk title), Rise of Merlin, Lara Croft Temples and Tombs, and Hall of the Mountain King.

Genesis Casino Popular Slots

The most popular games listings changed over time, of course.

To see Starburst at the top is no surprise. Everyone seems to love this game, it’s got a massive following and is a staple of free-spin welcome offers. Also up there are those new titles we mentioned, and Mystery Joker, Dragon’s Luck and Rainbow Jackpots.

Gonzo’s Quest is another old favourite that pops up in this chart.

Big Jackpot Slots

Big jackpots are the heart of gambling. Going online opened up a vast reservoir of players who could all contribute to networked prize pots. The jackpots won on online progressive jackpot games can be much bigger than any casino jackpot and drop more frequently. Of course, many more people are competing for these prizes.

Genesis Casino didn’t just list the big jackpots, it also gave players the current jackpot. The giant when we visited was Mega Moolah – the undisputed world champion of huge pay-outs – which was offering a top jackpot of €4.6million (about £4.3million). Many other games, like Holmes and the Stolen Stones, and Divine Fortune were offering jackpots of tens of thousands of pounds.

The site also put up a list of “must-fall” jackpots, which showed players which games were due to pay-out soon. Generally, trying to operate on a timetable for pay-outs for games is a loser’s game, but progressive jackpot slots are an exception, and Genesis Casino slots players were going to love this feature.

Live Games

Genesis Live Casino provided access to 85 tables powered by Evolution Gaming and NetEnt. Players could wager £0.10-£5,000 in Live Roulette, £1-£5,000 in Live Blackjack or £1-£2,000 in Live Baccarat and play 5 Live Poker games, 3 of which featured massive progressive jackpots, Top Card and Dream Catcher. NetEnt contributed with tables playing roulette as well as 7-seat and Common Draw Blackjack.

Table Games

A collection of 40+ table games provided a good enough choice for fans of Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, especially when it included great products like Sonya Blackjack. Poker was somewhat underrepresented but players could find other table games such as Casino Patience, Casino Barbut and Red Dog.

Video Poker

Due to the absence of a dedicated section (dear, dear), video poker games could only be found if you did a name search. If players didn’t mind doing that, they could play Jacks Or Better, All American, Aces & Eights, Deuces Wild, Bonus Poker, Deuces & Joker, All Aces and more.

Other Games

What else? Well, there were a number of scratch cards, Bingo and Keno games, virtual sports and quite a few arcade games.

Customer Support: Omnipresent and Efficient

The Genesis team had done a pretty good job with the FAQ list but still made its ground control available at all times. Players could contact them via email, phone (UK toll-free or an international one) or Live Chat.

Desktop or Mobile

Providing players owned an iPhone or an Android smartphone, they were able to “hold the gaming universe in your hands” and play more than 700 games for free or for real. There was no app; just use your browser as you would on a PC.

Genesis Real-Play Review: My Genesis Casino Real-Play Experience

Let’s see if there were any interesting aliens to meet once I became a registered member. The sign-up process resembled all others and started by providing a legit email address and selecting a username and password. During the next (and final) step, I needed to give the operator my first and last name, date of birth, address and mobile phone number, choose to receive marketing communication (or not) and accept Terms & Conditions while confirming I was of the legal gambling age.

Registration Process
two-step registration process

The above took next to no time and I could proceed to the cashier. Cards may not have been the fastest cash-out option available, but I found MasterCard payments easy to execute and trusted safety measures implemented by payment service providers. Though the Casino would accept as little as £10, I transferred a slightly higher amount to (hopefully) buy more gaming time. The transfer was immediate; I didn’t have to wait at all.

Then came the hard part of choosing among so many great options. I’m a live dealer fan but risked some of my money on one or two RNG games – fun mode first, real play after I’d explored rules and payouts. The fun play didn’t help me at all with Book Of Oz; those darn re-spins, available at a cost, didn’t do anything to improve the outcome.

Yggdrasil’s Sonya was much nicer to me and, hoping that a flesh-and-blood dealer may also let me win a few hands, I went to play Evolution’s Casino Hold’em. My charming opponent was way too lucky and none of my bonus bets has paid even though I’ve managed to collect decent amounts based on the first 5 cards dealt. So I decided to switch back to blackjack and chosen Evolution’s Infinite edition as it accepts much lower bets than a standard 7-seat table.

Won some, lost some

Well, I won some and lost some, with an unusually high number of hands ending in a push. What next? I’m not a roulette fan but still went on to test one of NetEnt’s products. I did end up having some luck while betting on colour and dozen although, overall, it didn’t hugely impact my balance. As the latter was still above the minimum withdrawal limit, I launched Evolution’s standard baccarat planning to consistently bet on Banker but didn’t profit as expected. What I do like is that the Casino keeps reminding me how long I’ve played thus far and how much I won and lost during the current gaming session.

I thought now may be a good time to test the withdrawal process and try to collect the minimum amount allowed. Withdrawal confirmation was instantaneous, instructing me to check my Inbox for details. In the email received, the operator told me my withdrawal “will be reviewed and processed within the next 48 hours, as per our withdrawal policy stated in our terms and conditions”. I don’t like to wait, but what the heck.

About 24 hours later, I received the following communication: “We regret to inform you that your withdrawal request was declined, as your MasterCard does not support withdrawals. Your funds are now back in your casino account. You can cash out via bank transfer but we would need to verify your bank account. Therefore, kindly send us a copy of the bank statement for the bank account linked to your card ending with XXXX”. I have no issue with this but wish I was told sooner. Now I’m back to 48-hour waiting time.

The Verdict

Genesis Casino was an excellent casino choice no matter what type of game you were looking to play. It operated with reliable licences, the games assortment was large and diverse enough to please pretty much anybody, the wagering requirements attached to the welcome bonus and other special deals were fairly typical for the time, help was available 24 hours a day and the overall experience was enjoyable and effortless. Since Genesis Casino is no longer accepting new players, this page should now be read as a historical review rather than a current recommendation.
