About Pragmatic Play
Pragmatic Play has given online casinos some pretty recognisable slots over the years. You may know the fisherman from Big Bass Bonanza or Zeus from Gates of Olympus, even if you've never paid much attention to the name behind them.
But there's quite a bit to choose from once you do. You could wait for the fisherman to collect money-fish in Big Bass Bonanza, see what Zeus does with the multipliers in Gates of Olympus or build multiplier spots across a 7x7 grid in Sugar Rush. And if you're not in the mood for slots, there are live tables and game shows too.

Pragmatic Play goes back to 2015. At first, the name was all about slots. Live casino joined the picture in 2019, bringing dealers and real tables into the mix. The company is based in Gibraltar today, and you'll come across Pragmatic Play in casino lobbies well beyond the UK.
Reel Kingdom and the Big Bass Series
There's another name you might have spotted on Big Bass Bonanza - Reel Kingdom. So what's the connection?
The original game was a joint project. Pragmatic Play released it in partnership with Reel Kingdom, the development partner behind the game.
Since then, the Big Bass family has become rather crowded. Bigger Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash and plenty of others have joined the fisherman.
Playing Pragmatic Play on Your Phone
Pragmatic Play's slots run in a mobile browser through your casino, so you don't need to download each game. The live tables and game shows work on phones and tablets too, with the presenter or dealer streamed alongside the betting controls.
Slots and live games have a different pace. In a slot, you start the next paid spin yourself. At a live table, bets close before the dealer begins the round; the broadcast carries on whether you join that round or sit it out. If you prefer to take your time between plays, that is a more useful distinction than how elaborate the studio looks.
Pragmatic Play RTP
There isn't one RTP for the whole Pragmatic Play range. The percentage belongs to the game and its settings, which you can find in the help screen. RTP describes a theoretical return over a very large number of plays, not an amount you can expect back from a session.
Pragmatic Play Slots to Try
Big Bass Bonanza
Game Information
The fish aren't much use without the fisherman. That's the key to this five-reel, 10-line slot: during free spins, the fisherman wild collects the values on the fish showing alongside him.
Three or more scatters start the bonus. Every fourth fisherman adds 10 spins, with collection multipliers rising to 2x, 3x and finally 10x on successive retriggers.
Gates of Olympus
Game Information
Gates of Olympus pays for eight or more matching symbols anywhere across six reels. Winners disappear and replacements tumble down. Multiplier symbols worth up to 500x can appear in both the main game and free spins.
Four or more scatters trigger 15 free spins. Here, qualifying multiplier symbols add to a running total: that total carries through the bonus and applies when a winning spin also lands a multiplier. It doesn't start again from scratch after every spin.
Sweet Bonanza
Game Information
Sweet Bonanza uses a 6x5 screen, with eight or more matching symbols anywhere needed for a win. Four scatters award 10 free spins, where multiplier bombs can show values from 2x to 100x.
The bombs add together at the end of a winning tumble sequence and multiply its win. Unlike Gates of Olympus, they don't build one running multiplier throughout the whole bonus. That difference matters more than the change from Greek gods to sweets.
The Dog House
Game Information
The Dog House keeps five reels, three rows and 20 paylines. Multiplier wilds can appear on the middle three reels; during free spins, they stay in place for the rest of the feature.
That's the appeal of the original for me: the same wild positions remain useful on later spins. You don't have a separate set of bonus powers to learn.
Sugar Rush
Game Information
Sugar Rush uses a 7x7 grid and pays for clusters of at least five matching symbols. Winning symbols disappear and mark their positions. Another win using a marked spot during the same spin creates a 2x multiplier there; further wins double it, up to 128x.
In free spins, the marked spaces and multipliers stay between spins. The feature builds around positions on the grid, not a multiplier attached to one symbol.
Wolf Gold
Game Information
Wolf Gold has two quite separate bonuses. Three scatters give five free spins, with reels two, three and four combining into one giant symbol.
Six or more money symbols trigger Money Respins. The symbols stay in place, and each new one resets the three-respin counter. When the respins finish, the visible values are paid; filling all 15 positions also awards the fixed 1,000x Mega prize.
Originals, Megaways and 1000 Versions
Pragmatic Play has revisited quite a few of the big names, and sometimes the new version changes more than you might expect.
Gates of Olympus 1000 is easy enough to understand. Multiplier symbols in the original go as high as 500x. The newer version pushes that figure to 1,000x.
The Dog House Megaways changes a lot more.
Remember those 20 paylines in the original? They're gone. Megaways changes the reel layout and the number of possible ways to win from spin to spin. The bonus changes too: when you get there, you can pick Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds.
So these really are two different takes on The Dog House. I like the original when I want the simple sticky-wild idea - land one and watch it stay there. Megaways has more moving parts and gives you that extra decision when the bonus starts.
Beyond Slots: Pragmatic Play’s Other Games
Pragmatic Play makes live blackjack, roulette and baccarat as well as presenter-led game shows. Traditional tables keep the card or wheel game at the centre; the shows add bonus rounds, multipliers and, sometimes, characters borrowed from slots.
There's bingo too, including 90-ball, 80-ball and 75-ball games. Bingo Blast is a separate mobile-first variation that reveals groups of balls before moving into individual calls. Sweet Bonanza Bingo and Sweet Bonanza CandyLand are not the same game: one belongs to the bingo range, the other is a live wheel show.
Sweet Bonanza CandyLand
CandyLand turns Sweet Bonanza into a live wheel show. Sweet Spins gives 10 spins on a shared slot, Candy Drop sends your chosen ball down a virtual peg board, and Bubble Surprise can award a multiplier or lead to either of those rounds.
The fairground-style bonuses are the reason I'd choose it over a plain money wheel. The theme has changed the game, not just the backdrop.
Mega Wheel
Mega Wheel has nine betting positions on a 54-segment wheel. One number is randomly selected for a Mega Multiplier of up to 500x before the wheel stops. To receive that boosted payout, your bet and the wheel's result both need to match it.
There are no separate bonus games to work through here. The number selected for the boost and the final wheel result are the main event.
PowerUP Roulette
PowerUP Roulette uses a European wheel with 37 numbers. Three to five numbers are highlighted before the result; landing on one starts another bonus spin with new PowerUP numbers. A game can run through up to five PowerUP rounds, with additional prizes for qualifying straight-up bets.
Finding Pragmatic Play Casinos in the UK
Pragmatic Play is worth exploring for the different ways its features build, from Big Bass collections to Sugar Rush's marked grid. Try the free demos, or compare our recommended UK Pragmatic Play casinos for current welcome offers, payment options and withdrawal terms.
If you already know the game you want, use its full title when comparing casinos. The original, Megaways and 1000 editions are separate games.
FAQ
Can I play Pragmatic Play slots for free?
Yes. The available demos use virtual credits, so no real money is involved. I'd use them for more than looking at the graphics: seeing Sugar Rush mark winning positions and build multipliers makes the feature easier to follow. Demo winnings can't be withdrawn.
Does Pragmatic Play make games other than slots?
Yes. Its range includes live blackjack, roulette and baccarat, presenter-led game shows and bingo. Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, for example, is a live wheel show, not the Sweet Bonanza slot. The games you can access depend on the casino's selection.
Are Pragmatic Play's Megaways and 1000 editions the same as the originals?
No. They are separate releases. The Dog House Megaways changes the reel format and bonus choices, while Gates of Olympus 1000 raises the possible multiplier values. The familiar theme doesn't mean the rules are identical, so use the complete title when choosing a game.
What is the RTP of Pragmatic Play slots?
It depends on the game; there isn't one percentage for the whole range. Open the information or help screen to see the RTP for the game in front of you. It's calculated across a very large number of plays, so your own session can look very different.
Can I buy bonuses in Pragmatic Play slots at UK casinos?
No, not at UKGC-licensed online casinos. Feature buys let you pay to enter a bonus directly, and the Gambling Commission required their removal. Buttons shown in international versions aren't a guide to UK play; the normal in-game bonus triggers still apply.
