7 Best Progressive Jackpot Slots for UK Players

progressive slots

The jackpot counter gets all the attention. Fair enough: it is usually the biggest number on the screen. But you still have to enjoy the game underneath it, whether that means Mega Moolah's old-fashioned safari reels, Divine Fortune's wandering wilds or a dragon hoovering up gold coins in Bonsai Dragon Blitz Dream Drop.

Our picks cover seven progressive jackpot slots with quite different bonus features. We explain how each jackpot is reached, what happens between those rare big moments, and which exact version to look for. There are links to our own game pages and demos, plus casinos from our current UK shortlist.

Checked in October 2026. Jackpot totals change, so use the live meter inside the game for the current prize. Screenshots illustrate gameplay, rather than today's jackpot amounts. Casino links may earn us a commission. 18+ only.

1. Mega Moolah

Provider: Games Global / Microgaming   Layout: 5 reels, 25 paylines

Mega Moolah gameplay showing the safari reels and four jackpot tiers

Mega Moolah looks its age, and that is part of its appeal. The cartoon animals, large symbols and straightforward five-reel layout are a world away from slots that keep adding meters, collectors and extra rows. If you want to understand what is happening at a glance, this is a comfortable place to start. The lion is the wild, substituting in ordinary winning combinations and doubling wins when it does.

There are two different features to keep straight. Three or more scatter symbols award 15 free spins, with wins multiplied by three. The progressive jackpot is a separate, randomly triggered feature during paid play, taking you to a wheel that awards one of four pots: Mini, Minor, Major or Mega. Landing the free-spins round is not the same as qualifying for that jackpot wheel.

The Mega is the headline attraction, backed by a shared jackpot network, but it is only one of the wheel's possible outcomes. We would choose Mega Moolah for its uncomplicated main game and familiar jackpot format. We would not choose it for cutting-edge graphics or a busy bonus round. Also check the full title in the lobby: Book of Mega Moolah and Immortal Romance Mega Moolah are separate games using the same wider jackpot brand.

2. Mega Fortune

Provider: NetEnt   Layout: 5 reels, 25 paylines

Original Mega Fortune gameplay with its 25 paylines and jackpot meters

Yachts, champagne and a white limousine: Mega Fortune has never been shy about its theme. The presentation is decidedly old-school, but the jackpot bonus has a clear sense of progression. Instead of waiting for a completely separate mystery interruption, you are watching for three bonus-wheel symbols on an active payline. That is your invitation to the three-wheel feature.

Arrows move the bonus towards the inner wheels, where the larger prizes are waiting. The possible jackpots are Rapid, Major and Mega, although the feature can also finish with a fixed coin prize. Reaching the bonus therefore does not guarantee a progressive jackpot. NetEnt describes the two smaller pots as local jackpots and the Mega as the wider network prize, another reason to read the meters in the casino you actually use.

The champagne scatters handle the other bonus. Three or more trigger a selection that reveals free spins and a win multiplier, with further scatters able to add spins or increase that multiplier during the round. We like the separation: wheel symbols for the jackpot feature, champagne for free spins. It is easy to follow without making the two bonuses feel identical. This entry is the original Mega Fortune; Mega Fortune Dreams has its own rules and should not be treated as the same slot with a longer name.

3. Divine Fortune

Provider: NetEnt   Layout: 5 reels, 20 paylines

Divine Fortune gameplay showing Pegasus and the Greek mythology symbols

Divine Fortune gives you something interesting to watch even when the jackpot stays out of reach. Its Pegasus wild slides down the reels through Falling Wilds Re-Spins. Land another wild on an existing one and the Wild on Wild feature expands it across the reel. That moving-wild mechanic makes this a good pick if you enjoy seeing a feature develop over several spins, rather than disappear as soon as the reels stop.

The jackpot round uses a different kind of build-up. Collect at least three bonus symbols through the main spin and its falling-wild sequence to enter a coin-filling bonus. Coins remain in place, and fresh coins reset the available respins. Filling one complete row wins the Minor; two complete rows win the Major; filling all three rows reaches the Mega. The important distinction is that only the Mega is progressive. The Minor and Major are fixed prizes worth 20x and 100x the triggering stake.

There is also a separate free-spins feature, where wilds expand across their reels. Between that, the respins and the coin bonus, Divine Fortune feels less dependent on its headline pot than some older jackpot slots. It is our pick here for players who enjoy wild features as much as jackpot features. Choose the original Divine Fortune in the lobby: Divine Fortune Megaways, Gold and Black are distinct releases, with their own layouts and prize rules.

4. Bonsai Dragon Blitz Dream Drop

Provider: Relax Gaming   Layout: 6 reels, 4,096 ways to win

Bonsai Dragon Blitz Dream Drop provider gameplay showing dragons, coin trees and the prize meter

There is a lovely contrast here between the neat bonsai trees and the dragon making off with their money. This is a collection game at heart: a dragon activates the feature, bonsai coins fill the prize meter, and treasure chests can upgrade the values or bring respins. Two dragons double the meter's starting values. It gives you a clear visual target beyond simply hoping for another line of matching symbols.

Three or more bonus symbols trigger Bonsai Spins, with a dragon guaranteed on each spin. Extra bonus symbols add spins, so the round keeps its focus on collecting and upgrading. Relax advertises a 10,000x ordinary-game maximum, but that should not be confused with the separately funded Dream Drop prizes. The jackpot symbols are integrated into the reel features in this release.

The full name matters especially here. Bonsai Dragon Blitz Dream Drop connects to the progressive network; the later Bonsai Dragon Blitz release uses fixed jackpots. Look for the Dream Drop name and jackpot information before playing. This is the liveliest collection-style choice in our shortlist, and a useful alternative if the older jackpot wheels feel a little sedate. Its network now includes Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Daily, Major and Mega prizes. The Daily addition makes six tiers, so older five-jackpot descriptions are no longer a complete picture of Dream Drop.

5. Banana Town Dream Drop

Provider: Relax Gaming   Style: Scatter pays, cascading wins and multiplier upgrades

Banana Town Dream Drop provider gameplay with monkey gangsters and symbol multipliers

Banana Town swaps the luxury yachts and mythological beasts for a town run by sharply dressed monkeys. The pixel-art style gives it a distinct personality, and the main game has plenty going on: wins cascade, multipliers can improve and a free-spins feature adds another layer. Pick this one if you prefer the rhythm of symbols dropping into place to the familiar stop-and-start of a traditional payline slot.

The Dream Drop feature is separate from those cascading wins. It can trigger randomly before an ordinary spin, opening a selection of 15 banana crates. You reveal jackpot symbols until one appears three times, which identifies the prize awarded. It is a different presentation from Bonsai's collection features, even though both games connect to Dream Drop. Changing the scenery does not mean you have discovered an unrelated progressive pot.

Relax added the Daily jackpot across the Dream Drop network in 2025, bringing the total to six prize tiers. The current jackpot panel is the place to check those prizes and their rules; older launch material for Banana Town lists only the original five. We would choose Banana Town for the cascading gameplay and comic gangster setting. If you prefer a traditional reel layout with clearly marked paylines, Mega Moolah or Mega Fortune will probably be easier to settle into. Make sure the title includes Dream Drop, as the original Banana Town is a separate version.

6. Celebration of Wealth

Provider: Play'n GO   Layout: 5 reels, 243 ways to win in the main game

Celebration of Wealth gameplay with lanterns, firecrackers and four jackpot meters

Celebration of Wealth brings lanterns, firecrackers and festival colours to Play'n GO's Wealth series. The main game uses 243 ways to win, rather than 243 fixed paylines. The interesting decision arrives with the free spins: after three or more scatters, you choose a combination of initial spins and available ways. One option takes the reel layout up to 7,776 ways, while Mystery Pick leaves the selection to the game.

More ways should not be read as a promise of more profit. The choices change the shape of the feature, giving you a reason to look at the options rather than automatically selecting the biggest number. Three or more scatters can retrigger the chosen round. Of the two Wealth games in this guide, this is the one we would pick for that choice of bonus layouts.

Its progressive feature works through Gold Reels during paid play. Between one and five reels can turn gold at random; a wild landing on any one of those gold reels triggers the jackpot feature. You then reveal coins until three matching jackpot symbols identify your prize. The four pots are Mini, Minor, Major and Grand. You do not need all five reels to turn gold, and the jackpot cannot trigger during the free spins themselves. Those details are easy to miss if you only glance at the four counters above the reels.

7. Beast of Wealth

Provider: Play'n GO   Layout: 5 reels, 243 ways to win

Beast of Wealth gameplay with dragon and tortoise symbols below the four jackpots

Beast of Wealth belongs to the same family as Celebration, but its bonus decision is about creatures rather than reel layouts. The dragon, phoenix, tiger and tortoise are the stars, each bringing a different symbol value and frequency to the free-spins choice. It is a stronger fit if you enjoy a bonus round built around one premium symbol appearing repeatedly.

Three or more scatters open the feature with eight free spins. Choose a beast, or take Mystery Pick, and that creature becomes the only premium symbol in the round. Three or more scatters can add another eight spins. A higher-paying creature is not automatically the best choice: its frequency also matters. That gives the selection a little more character than four different pictures leading to an identical round.

The progressive route remains the Wealth series' Gold Reels feature. During paid spins, one or more reels may turn gold, and a wild landing on a gold reel triggers a jackpot selection. Reveal matching symbols to determine whether you receive the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand. The game's rules make jackpot chance dependent on stake, but a larger bet also costs more and still guarantees nothing. For our money, the reason to choose Beast over Celebration is its creature-led free spins. The jackpot branding alone does little to distinguish the two.

How progressive jackpots work

A progressive jackpot is a prize that grows through contributions from qualifying bets. When somebody wins it, the pot resets according to the game's rules and starts building again. A network jackpot can link several games or casinos; a local jackpot has a narrower pool. You can see both arrangements in Mega Fortune, whose smaller local pots sit alongside a network Mega.

The word "jackpot" by itself tells you very little. A fixed prize of 100x your stake may also be called a jackpot, but it does not grow as other people play. Divine Fortune is a good example of both systems in one game: fixed Minor and Major prizes, plus a progressive Mega. Likewise, the ordinary game's maximum win and the progressive pot are separate figures.

What does "must drop" mean?

A must-drop jackpot has a limit built into its rules, such as a prize threshold or a time window. Relax currently describes Dream Drop's Major and Mega as must-drop pots, with the additional Daily jackpot falling three times a day across the network. That promise applies to the shared prize, not to every player or every casino session. It does not make your own win certain or tell you exactly which spin will trigger it.

What to check before choosing a jackpot slot

The exact title and version. A familiar name is not enough. Dream Drop, Jackpot King and other jackpot editions can sit beside standard versions in the same lobby. Open the game information and confirm the progressive feature is present.

The qualifying bet. Some games link jackpot eligibility or the chance of triggering it to stake, active lines or an optional contribution. Read those rules rather than assuming you need the maximum bet. Changing your stake also changes the amount you can lose.

The RTP information. Check the help screen for the version at your chosen casino. A percentage quoted for the ordinary game may exclude the progressive contribution, and different configurations can have different returns. RTP describes a long-run mathematical average, not what you will get back in one session.

The current lobby and bonus terms. We found the recommended versions in Genting Casino and Mega Casino's catalogues during this update. Casino links open their sites; search the exact game title before depositing. A casino welcome bonus may exclude jackpot games or apply different conditions, so do not assume every advertised offer works with every slot.

Progressive jackpot Q&A

Progressive jackpot slots FAQs

Answers to common questions about qualifying bets, free spins, shared jackpots and the games in this guide.

What is a progressive jackpot slot?

A progressive jackpot slot has a prize pot that grows as qualifying bets contribute to it. When someone wins, the pot resets to a starting amount and begins building again. The jackpot sits alongside the slot's ordinary wins, so the growing cash prize and the game's advertised maximum win are not necessarily the same thing.

What is the difference between a fixed and a progressive jackpot?

A fixed jackpot pays a set amount or a multiple of your stake. A progressive jackpot grows through contributions until it is won. Some slots combine both: in the original Divine Fortune, the Minor and Major are fixed prizes, while the Mega is progressive. Names such as Mini, Major and Grand do not tell you which system a game uses.

How do you win a progressive jackpot on an online slot?

The trigger depends on the game. Mega Fortune uses bonus-wheel symbols to open its jackpot feature, while Mega Moolah has a separate random jackpot trigger during paid play. Other slots use collection features or special reels. Check the jackpot rules for the exact version you open: entering a bonus does not always mean winning a progressive prize.

Do I need to bet the maximum to win a progressive jackpot?

Not necessarily. Eligibility can depend on the stake, active lines or a separate jackpot contribution, and some games make the chance of a jackpot increase with the amount bet. There is no universal maximum-bet rule. Read the game's jackpot information for its qualifying conditions; raising your stake costs more and does not guarantee a win.

Are progressive jackpots shared across different casinos?

Some are. A network jackpot pools contributions from linked games or participating casinos, while a local jackpot covers a smaller pool. Mega Fortune combines smaller local jackpots with a wider network Mega. Always check the pot shown in your game, since two similar-looking slots are not necessarily connected to the same jackpot.

Can a progressive jackpot be won during a slot's free-spins feature?

It depends on the slot. Celebration of Wealth, for example, can award its progressive jackpot on paid spins but not during its free-spins round. A free-spins feature and a jackpot feature are separate parts of the game. Check the rules rather than assuming that every spin, including bonus spins, can trigger the pot.

Can I use casino bonus money or promotional free spins on jackpot slots?

Check both the offer's terms and the game's jackpot rules. Bonus funds may be restricted to particular games, and promotional free spins normally name the slot they can be used on. A casino offering a jackpot game does not automatically mean its welcome offer covers it. Confirm eligibility before using an offer, including any restrictions on jackpot play.

Can I win a real progressive jackpot in a free slot demo?

No. Demo credits and prizes have no cash value. Our demo links help you explore a game's layout and features, but a demo does not establish the current real-money jackpot or your eligibility for it. Our Mega Moolah link opens a game guide with a gameplay video, rather than a playable demo.

What is a must-drop jackpot, and how is it different from an ordinary progressive?

A must-drop jackpot has an award limit in its rules, such as a cash threshold or a time window. A progressive jackpot describes a growing prize pot; a pot can be both progressive and must-drop. Dream Drop's Major and Mega use threshold rules, while its Daily prize falls three times a day across the network. That is not a guaranteed win for each player.

Does a large progressive jackpot mean it is due to pay out?

A large counter alone does not tell you when the jackpot will be won. Must-drop games have specific limits, but those rules still do not identify a winning player or spin. For a jackpot without such a limit, its size or time since the last win is not a reliable countdown. There is no timing trick that guarantees the prize.

How many Dream Drop jackpots are there?

The current Dream Drop network has six progressive tiers: Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Daily, Major and Mega. Relax Gaming added the Daily prize across the network in 2025, so older guides listing five tiers are incomplete. Look for the Dream Drop version of the slot and use its live jackpot panel for current amounts and qualifying rules.

Which progressive jackpot slot is easiest to follow?

Of the games in this guide, Mega Moolah is our pick for a straightforward reel layout and a separate jackpot feature. Mega Fortune offers a clear route into its wheel bonus, while Divine Fortune adds moving wilds and respins. Choose the style of game you enjoy; a simpler layout does not mean the jackpot is easier to win.
